Southwestern Law School, in its historic building on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, has a long history of involvement with the entertainment and media industries. Through its Biederman Entertainment and Media Law Institute, Southwestern was the first law school to establish an LL.M. in Entertainment and Media Law. Today, in partnership with Kaplan Legal Education, Southwestern offers the first Entertainment and Media Law LL.M. online to attorneys worldwide.

The online LL.M. option provides: access to Southwestern Law School's expert entertainment and media law oriented faculty; live virtual classes incorporating the very latest materials, audio files, and video feeds directly relevant to the issues of the day; a curriculum designed to ensure efficient and active learning; the opportunity to network with like-minded attorneys globally.

On October 5th, Professor Michael Blaha discusses the various aspects of representing independent filmmakers and how his LL.M. course, Financing and Distributing Independent Films Law, will give attorneys a leg up in doing so. Also, Professor Bridgette de Gyarfas, Director of the Entertainment and Media Law LL.M. online will talk about the benefits of an LL.M. and the convenience of doing it online.
